HEALTHCARE STAFF TRAININGS ON FIELD IN TANZANIA

NeuroSolve’s study team begun on 10th November the training for healthcare staff at Songwe study site.

Thereafter, they will proceed to the other sites.

The main topics addressed during the trainings for healthcare staff are the following:

  1. Introduction to T. solium, Infection and Cysticercosis: Understanding the transmission cycle, prevention, control measures, and impact.
  2. Identification of Endemic Areas: Protocols for mapping and identifying at-risk areas.
  3. Preventive Chemotherapy for and treatment of Taeniasis: Strategies and safety considerations for administering medicines.
  4. Monitoring and Evaluation Framework: Diagnostic tests, intervention thresholds, and evaluation frameworks.
  5. Case Management of Neurocysticercosis: Managing neurocysticercosis, including WHO guidelines and treatment resources. Epilepsy management update.
  6. One Health Approach: Integrating human health, animal health, and environmental strategies for T. solium control.
  7. Specific training on NeuroSolve’s clinical trial protocol.
