At the 16th <em>International Congress of Parasitology<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/icopa2026.org\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/icopa2026.org\/\">ICOPA 2026<\/a>), held from August 16 to 21 in Montr\u00e9al, Canada, under the theme <em>&#8220;Parasites in a Changing World&#8221;<\/em>, team members <strong>Fredy Mlowe<\/strong> and <strong>Lisa Van Acker<\/strong> presented their latest findings on controlling and monitoring <em>Taenia solium<\/em> infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"571\" src=\"https:\/\/neurosolve.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Screenshot_20260831-083100-1-1024x571.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1661\" srcset=\"https:\/\/neurosolve.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Screenshot_20260831-083100-1-1024x571.png 1024w, https:\/\/neurosolve.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Screenshot_20260831-083100-1-300x167.png 300w, https:\/\/neurosolve.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Screenshot_20260831-083100-1-768x428.png 768w, https:\/\/neurosolve.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Screenshot_20260831-083100-1.png 1050w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sustainment of Health Education in Tanzania<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fredy Mlowe<\/strong> is a Veterinarian with a Master\u2019s Degree in Epidemiology and a PhD student within the NeuroSolve Project. His research addresses translation challenges and strategies for adopting health education and serological tests within government institutions to support routine <em>T. solium<\/em> control in Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At ICOPA 2026, he presented the poster <em>&#8220;Sustainment status of community-based health education delivery to control Taenia solium infection in selected districts of Tanzania&#8221;<\/em>, conducted between December 2024 and June 2025 across the Mbinga, Kongwa, Mbulu, and Songwe District Councils using the Sustainment Measurement System Scale (SMSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost-Effectiveness and Diagnostics for Neurocysticercosis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lisa Van Acker<\/strong> is a PhD student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University (Belgium), working under Prof. Sarah Gabri\u00ebl at the Laboratory of Foodborne Parasitic Zoonoses.
