The university has participated in 263 research projects in the 7th Framework Programme, of which it coordinated 42 collaborative projects. Till now, Ghent University, under Horizon 2020 is involved in around 270 projects and coordinates 26 of the collaborative projects. From UGent, Prof. Sarah Gabri\u00ebl graduated as a veterinarian from Ghent University in 1999. She subsequently worked at the Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute in Pretoria, South Africa, then at the University of Zambia. From 2008-2016 she conducted research on parasitic zoonoses at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp. Since October 2016, she works for the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, as head of the laboratory of foodborne parasitic zoonoses.
